Shelley Hennig: Acting Career

Shelley Hennig was cast in Days of Our Lives as Stephanie Johnson in 2007. 

She was nominated for the 37th Daytime Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2010.

Hennig announced her departure from Days of Our Lives on January 18, 2011.

She starred as Diana Meade in the TV series The Secret Circle, based on the novels by L. J. Smith, from 2011 to 2012. 

The series’ cancellation for a second season was confirmed on May 11, 2012. 

After that, she played Christy in MTV’s Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous. After one season, the show was cancelled.

On MTV’s Teen Wolf, Hennig played Malia Tate beginning in the third season. For the fourth season, she was elevated to series regular and stayed in the show until it finished in 2017. 

She was named Choice Summer TV Star at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards for her depiction of Malia. She made appearances in the Blumhouse horror films Ouija and Unfriended in 2014. 

She also had an appearance in the music video for “Gentle on My Mind” by The Band Perry. 

She starred in Maren Morris’ music video for “I Could Use a Love Song” in 2017. She starred as Carrie Grey, a photographer, in the Netflix romantic comedy When We First Met, in 2018.

Hennig was cast in a leading role in the NBC comedy pilot Crazy for You on March 10, 2020. Rachele Lynn, best known for her work on Saturday Night Live, was set to produce the pilot. At the time, the series’ release date was unknown.

Shelley Hennig: Modelling Career

In November 2003, Hennig was crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2004 at a state pageant in Lafayette, Louisiana. 

Her participation in the state pageant was her first. Miss Teen USA 2004 was held in Palm Springs, California, and she represented Louisiana there. 

She was the first girl from Louisiana to win a national crown since Ali Landry won Miss USA in 1996.

Hennig was the Miss Universe Organization’s representative as Miss Teen USA. Jennifer Hawkins (Miss Universe, Australia) and Shandi Finnessey (Miss USA, Missouri) were her sister titleholders in 2004, and she appeared alongside them on several occasions, including a trip to Bangkok, Thailand.
