A United States Navy seal officer has died as a result of an injury sustained in an accident during a training exercise on Saturday in Virginia Beach.
The officer’s name as well as details relating to how he died is yet to be released, following official protocols. They will be made available a day after his family has been notified of his death.
The deceased Naval Seal who was attached to SEAL Team 8 died at a hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, according to Lt. Cmdr. Kara Handley of Naval Special Warfare Command.
“The details of the tragic accident are currently under investigation and findings will be made available at the appropriate time,” he said.
