During an interview with BBC, Rebel Wilson revealed that her weight loss journey was met with a lot of resistance, not from herself, but from her own colleagues.
She said her team queried why she wanted to lose weight, saying she would miss out on her spectacular role as the “funny fat girl” and the plenty of money it gave her.
Rebel Wilson before and after her weight loss, however, said that although she was very confident and not ashamed in any way because of her plus size, she decided to let go of the extra pounds of flesh for healthy living.
The 41-year-old Hollywood actress lost over 80 pounds of weight.
She also said she decided to lose weight in order to boost her fertility, but “whatever happens, happens”.
In another interview, Rebel Wilson opened up on how she successfully achieved her dramatic weight loss, citing medications. According to her, Ozempic (a drug) helped her curb her appetite.
However, all might not be that easy as the Australian actress revealed she gained 30 pounds during one of her busy schedules.
At least, Wilson’s efforts to improve her fertility might have paid off when she announced the birth of her first child whom she had through surrogacy.
