Have you checked the prices of laptops and other computers and accessories lately either online or from your local store and wonder why the prices are rocket high? Well, if you find yourself in this class, you either gather the penny you have and purchase what you can afford right now or you make do and manage the one you have…if you currently have one!
This is because the Covid-19 pandemic and ensuring lockdown created massive backlogs of unsupplied and paid-up orders of laptops. Reports have it that prepaid orders are expected to be fulfilled and shipped by May or June 2021.
That means the scarcity of brand new laptops will continue and prices will continue to skyrocket!
Also, the continuous crash in the value of the Naira will make the prices of imported products such as laptops to be higher than usual. The Nigerian Naira recently fell to a record low of NGN478/$1 despite the continuous effort of the Central Bank of Nigeria to defend it.
