The Lagos State Government has fully lifted the restriction on the daily opening times of all markets. Markets within the states can now open throughout the days of the week.
Major markets were made to open only three times in a week; Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, during the height of the Covid-19 epidemic. the restrictions were put in place then to forestall the spread of the virus.
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the full resumption of operations of both food markets and non-food markets. They are now to open daily.”
However, traders as well as the general public were still advised to adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols as the coronavirus is still much rampant. The reason for the full resumption was to allow the people to recuperate financial losses and stagnancy.
