Ignorance they say is not an excuse! With that being said, I’m sharing the list of un-Islamic things banned by Hisbah and enforced by the Sharia court in Kebbi State, Nigeria. You just have to abide by these laws whilst ensuring you don’t get in the way of SARS if you want to live peacefully in Nigeria. They are listed below in English:
List Of ‘Un-Islamic’ Things Banned By Hisbah In Kebbi State
- Sagging trousers
- Stupid haircuts’
- P.E.S
- Staying out late past 6 pm in the market to sell goods.
- Carrying two women on a motorcycle
- Use of curved plates and bowls
- Listening/dancing to music by D.J, Wasigidi
We don’t know if P.E.S in bullet 3 means Pro Evolution Soccer…football video game lovers would understand this.
Aside from this, drinking and selling alcoholic drinks remain banned. Frequent news reports of numerous crates of beer being destroyed by the Hisbah police force.
