Jonathan Majors, following a conviction last year for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, has been mandated to undergo one year of domestic violence counseling.

The actor, currently residing in Los Angeles, is required to complete a 52-week, in-person domestic violence program, with the possibility of virtual sessions in the future. Additionally, he must continue his ongoing mental health therapy and provide regular progress updates. A permanent order of protection against any contact between Jabbari and Majors has also been imposed by the judge, with any violations potentially leading to incarceration.

The sentencing, delivered by Judge Michael Gaffey in a lower Manhattan courtroom on Monday, comes nearly four months after Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault against Jabbari. Originally set for sentencing in January, it was postponed to April due to motions filed by his legal team, which have since been dismissed.

Accompanied by his current girlfriend, actor Meagan Good, Majors greeted his family and supporters before taking his seat alongside his attorneys, Priya Chaudhry and Seth Zuckerman. Shortly after, Jabbari entered the room to deliver a victim impact statement, expressing her frustration that Majors has not shown remorse or taken responsibility for the assault. She criticized the defense team’s tactics during the trial, describing them as “abhorrent” and “horrific.”

Judge Gaffey cited Majors’ lack of prior criminal history and arrests as factors in his decision to forego jail time, although Majors remained impassive and declined to make a statement during the sentencing.

The incident leading to Majors’ arrest occurred in March 2023 when he assaulted Jabbari in a private vehicle. Despite denying the assault, Majors did not testify during the trial, with his defense team consistently asserting that Jabbari was the aggressor that night.

Jabbari recently filed a lawsuit against Majors, alleging assault and defamation, particularly concerning statements made during his “Good Morning America” interview where he denied ever harming a woman. She further accused him of battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution.

In her lawsuit, Jabbari also detailed prior instances of alleged assault by Majors in London and Los Angeles, along with threatening text messages where he discouraged her from seeking medical help and made suicide threats. Although these texts were not admissible as evidence in the trial, they were presented as background information.

Following the guilty verdict, Majors was terminated from Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he portrayed the character Kang the Conqueror, and his Hollywood career is currently uncertain. Despite this, his attorney, Chaudhry, expressed Majors’ optimism about returning to the film industry in the near future.
