Scottish Leaders, Celtic Beat Dundee To Remain At The Top Of The Table

Scottish leaders, Celtic grabbed a comfortable win against stubborn Dundee in the premier league, to remain at the top of the table.

The leaders tried to break the deadlock in the first half, but their opponents were just too stubborn.

On the halftime mark, Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart had a point-blank save that denied Luke McCowan a goal for the visitors.

David Turnbull got the first from the penalty spot after the Scotland midfielder went down on the edge of the penalty box.

Kyogo Furuhashi headed the second from a beautiful McGregor cross and then set the ball for Matt O’Riley who sent in the third of the game.

Dundee’s big chance came when Owen Beck cut the ball to unmarked midfielder McCowan and striker Luke Robinson made a mess of his chance on the rebound off Hart.

Speaking about the match, Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers said:

“I thought we played well in the first half without scoring, but give credit to Dundee, they worked very hard defensively and sometimes you have to tire out the opposition and then I thought in the second half we found more spaces and looked good and threatening and took our goals well.

“There was a much greater fluency and things were connecting much better. It is a game of patience and the players did that very well.”
