A video captured the moment Wagner Leader Yevgeny Prigozhin’s jet was falling from the sky after it was reportedly shot down by air defenses in the Tver region, north of Moscow, according to the Telegram channel Grey Zone.
The plane was carrying three crew members and seven passengers during the ill-fated flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
Russian officials confirmed that the leader of Wagner, Prigozhin, who came out defiant against Putin in June, was on the plane that crashed in the Tver region.
In the video, vapor trails can be seen following the doomed aircraft as it fell on a free-fall, then exploded on impact with the ground.
Two explosions were said to be heard prior to the crash, according to Grey Zone, less than 30 minutes into the flight.
The Tass news agency also reported that four bodies had already been discovered.
