Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scored his first goal for Barcelona in a friendly game on Sunday at Camp Nou against Mexico’s Pumas UNAM. Lewandowski failed to score for his new team during earlier friendly while Barca was on its US tour.
But in their final annual preseason game on Sunday at home, Barcelona thumped their opponents 6-0. The sequence of successful shots was started by none other than Lewandowski, who capitalized on Pedri’s assist with a near-perfect finish in the third minute of the Joan Gamper Trophy contest.
Lewandowski made a comeback in support of Pedri while wearing the number nine, assisting Pedri twice as both of his attempts found the back of the net.
Ten minutes after the game’s start, Barca had a 3-0 advantage. In the third goal, Ousmane Dembele, a forward, scored. The Pumas were a pitiful sight, and it appeared that their defense consisted only of theory.
Lewandowski’s second assist for Pedri helped Barca score another goal just before halftime. They then scored twice more in the next round, with midfielder Frenkie de Jong and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang taking home the awards.
A LaLiga debut for the 33-year-old is anticipated on August 13 when Barcelona hosts Rayo Vallecano.
