Sean O’Malley’s bout at UFC 276 came to a dismal conclusion after a highly anticipated top-15 matchup was scheduled.

O’Malley, a native of Helena, accidentally jabbed Pedro Munhoz in the eye during their Saturday bout at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. After Munhoz’s poked eye rendered him unable to see, the fight was declared a no contest.

O’Malley (15-1-1) fought in his eighth UFC match. Munhoz is ranked No. 10 while O’Malley is ranked No. 13 in the official UFC bantamweight rankings going into the fight.

A technical battle was about to break out in the fight. By the end of the fight, O’Malley had landed 25 of O’Munhoz’s 26 strikes.

On Saturday, O’Malley and Munhoz began the pay-per-view card.
