To Commemorate Her Seventh Birthday, Princess Charlotte Is Pictured With Her Pet Dog Orla

In a portrait shot to commemorate Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday, she is seen putting her arm around the family’s cocker spaniel.

The Duchess of Cambridge captured the young royal enjoying the outdoors in Norfolk this weekend, surrounded by bluebells.

Charlotte and her favorite dog Orla are featured in one of three photos released ahead of Charlotte’s seventh birthday on Monday.

The middle child of William and Kate has her long hair loose about her shoulders and is dressed in a nice cable knit blue jumper that matches the flowers around her.

The casual knitwear appearance is finished off with a white collar with dark spots.

The dog, who has a black lustrous coat, is facing to its right in the photo, while Charlotte grins at the camera and holds flowers in her left hand.

Charlotte is seated cross-legged in one of the other photographs, and she is seated with her arms over her knees in the final one.

Orla is not the family’s first pet.

William and Kate’s previous dog Lupo – a wedding present from Kate’s brother James – died in November 2020.

The couple announced the death of Lupo in a rare personal post on their Instagram account.

“(Lupo) has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much,” they said.

The Cambridge family spends a lot of time away from London at Anmer Hall, which is part of the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Kate is an enthusiastic amateur photographer who was awarded lifetime honorary membership in the Royal Photographic Society in 2017 for her “skill and enthusiasm.”

She posts photos of her children regularly to commemorate special milestones such as birthdays.

Charlotte’s sixth birthday was celebrated last year with the posting of a photo of her appearing cheerful and calm in floral summer attire.

Charlotte was photographed helping her brothers and their dad load a vehicle with supplies and serve meals to people in need in Norfolk for her fifth birthday.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge is the full name of the birthday girl.

She weighed 8lb 3oz and was born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, central London, at 8.34 a.m. on May 2, 2015.

Charlotte has recently been spotted in public on two occasions.

On April 17, she attended the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor with her parents and brother Prince George.

She attended the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial ceremony at Westminster Abbey on March 29 with her parents and George, marking the Cambridge children’s first outing at a big church event.
