<p>Omar Marmoush set a record as he scored his first goal in the <a href="https://igettalk.com/2026/01/fulhams-late-comeback-at-craven-cottage-earns-a-win-against-brighton.html" target="_blank" data-type="post" data-id="114849" rel="noreferrer noopener">Premier League</a> this season as Manchester City earned a comfortable 2-0 win against Wolves to return to winning in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.</p>



<p>Manchester City under head coach Pep Guardiola had encountered a not too good start to the season, being unable to win any of their last four games, and Guardiola chose to rest Phil Foden and Erling Haaland as they watched from the bench.</p>



<p>City took possession from the beginning of the match against a team set up with a defensive back five.</p>



<p>Marc Guehi, who was recently signed into the club, almost had a goal in the early minutes of the match before Marmoush&#8217;s goal made it 1-0 through the successful conversion of a cross from Matheus Nunes.</p>



<p>Wolves almost came to a close through Semenyo, but Pep Guardiola&#8217;s men did not lose control.</p>



<p>Bernardo Silva&#8217;s fine pass to Semenyo has Manchester City up 2-0 with a fine finish before the end of the first 45 minutes of the game.</p>



<p>Semenyo later had an attempt that hit the crossbar, while Wolves nearly had a goal through Yerson Mosquera. The loss pushed Wolves down to the bottom, 14 points from safety.</p>
