Nottingham Forest earned a dominant 3-0 win at Anfield against Liverpool, slimming the Reds’ chance of making it to the next Champions League as their Premier League struggles continue.
The first goal for Forest was scored in the 33rd minute from a corner by Murillo before Nicolo Savona fired another goal to double the team’s lead early in the second half.
Morgan Gibbs-White scored the winner for Forest to seal a 3-0 win after Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson had earlier saved an attempt from Omari Hutchinson.
The defeat makes it Liverpool’s sixth loss in seven matches and their second straight 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
Liverpool’s struggles continue, seeing them lose eight of their last 11 matches across all competitions they are competing in. The team currently sits in 11th place on the Premier League table and is eight points behind the Gunners, which sits first on the table.
The Reds’ head coach, Arne Slot, mentioned that the team is still battling the emotion of losing one of its stars, Diogo Jota.
Liverpool still hasn’t found a good standing despite spending more than £400 million in the summer.
