Wolves' battle in this season continues as Lyle Foster scored a shocking late goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time at Molineux to earn Burnley a 3-2 win. The loss puts Wolves, under manager Vitor Pereira, at the bottom of the Premier League table after securing only two points since the beginning of the season, with two draws, zero wins, and seven losses, sparking anger from fans of the club who could not hide their anger at the club's ownership from when the match started to the end. Burnley scored their first two goals 30 minutes after the match commenced, first in the 14th minute and second in the 30th minute, both by Zian Flemming, the first through a fine shot from far range and the second from near. Wolves did not wait till the second half before they scored a goal against Burnley through a penalty kick converted by Jorgen Strand Larsen, a foul by Josh Cullen, and a cross from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was headed into Burnley's net by Marshall Munetsi at 45+4 minutes before the end of the first half. Wolves dominated the beginning of the second half but were unlucky to secure a win after an attempt by John Arias hit the goalpost. The anger grew further after possession of the ball was lost late on by Bellegarde, providing an opportunity for Hannibal Mejbri to set up Foster for the deciding goal. The win pushed Burnley to the 16th position of the league with only five points ahead of the relegation area.
