Disney's channels, including ABC and ESPN, were pulled out of YouTube TV due to the failure of the two companies to renew their streaming deal before its set expiration date, October 30th, 2025. A statement by YouTube TV stated that it was unable to meet up with a fair deal and would hand over a credit worth $20 to subscribers if the blackout continues. Disney, in its own defence, mentioned that YouTube TV failed to offer fair rates and yanked off recorded content belonging to its company from users' libraries, calling the act unfair to those who subscribe to it. YouTube later disagreed with Disney, claiming that the latter company engaged in a blackout threat to ensure higher prices, and requested the integration of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ content into its platform, a proposal that Disney rejected. This disagreement denies viewers access to watching “Monday Night Football” and college football. The faceoff comes after a similar agreement between NBCUniversal and YouTube, which almost caused a blackout in September. Analysts have confirmed that YouTube is the largest media distributor in the United States and may earn more than Disney in revenue this year.
