Martha Alicia Mendez Aguilar, better known as “La Diabla”, a woman who is the leader of a human and organ trafficking ring that lures pregnant women to secret locations in Mexico, where they will ultimately be killed and their organs harvested for sale, while their babies are delivered and sold off for adoption to people in the United States, have been arrested. La Diabla is the leader of the illegal human and organ trafficking network, and the network is also affiliated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (JNGC). The network itself operates in Mexico. La Diabla's arrest was executed by the joint effort of both the United States and the Mexican authorities on September 2, in Juarez, Mexico. In what could pass as a movie script from a horror movie, the pregnant women, probably seeking abortion or wanting to let go of the baby after birth, and very likely in a vulnerable or impoverished situation, would be lured to remove locations where cesarean operations will be done on them. The retrieved babies are then sold to couples in the United States for about $14,000. The maternal mother will have her organs removed and sold on the black market. The human and organ trafficking network met its waterloo following a tip-off to the Mexican authorities from the United States' National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). La Diabla is in Mexican custody while further investigation is being conducted. The arrest is another great feat of Trump's administration after he designated international drug traffickers as terrorists and authorized the use of direct, fatal force against them. JNGC had been listed by the US as one of 8 terrorist drug cartels early this year. Currently, about 21,000 people have been identified and included as cartel members and associates in the US classified terrorist database, according to the NCTC.
