A nine-year-old girl has died after an incident in HersheyPark Wave Pool near Pennsylvania's Capital. She was in distress when she was found. The incident occured in the wave pool which was six feet deep and the largest in the state. Although details on what happened are unclear, the girl was quickly attended to when the lifeguard team noticed her distress. They performed CPR and tried all they could to immediately resuscitate her. When she did not respond, she was immediately taken to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where they tried everything to resuscitate her. But unfortunately, she did not recover. The water park is still investigating the incident and they are working with the authorities to make sure everything was done right. "The safety of our guests has always been our highest priority," CEO John Lawn said. The water park has lifeguards dedicated to making sure visitors, especially those exploring the wave pool, are safe. There are also life vests for minors or those who can not swim. At the time of the incident, ten lifeguards were overseeing the wave pool and life vests were also available. The park was closed for the rest of the day to honor the deceased and her family. The 121-acre Hersheypark was founded in 1927 and has been a source of fun for families.
