Social media platform X, which was Twitter before its acquisition by Elon Musk, became inaccessible to over ten thousand of its users in the early hours of Saturday in the United States, as seen on outage-tracking site DownDetector. The social media platform became inaccessible to more than a thousand users at around 8 a.m. ET, with more than 25,000 people reporting the outage by 8:26 a.m. Among what users reported include server connection problems, inaccessibility to mobile apps or websites. The outage not only occurred in the U.S., but over 11,000 people using the platform in the United Kingdom also made a case about it. Hundreds of users in other countries also claimed that they experienced difficulties accessing X. The actual number of users that were affected by the glitch could surpass the number reported since DownDetector collects reports directly from users. Today's outage is not the first time that users have experienced issues with the platform this week. Users also made a case about the trouble they experienced with the platform on Thursday, and the X developer platform stated that logins started showing “downgraded performance” on Friday, a situation that is not finally over. The social media platform is owned by Elon Musk. It is reported to have about 250 million people who actively use it daily. Musk mentioned last year March that the platform had been sold by him to his AI company, xAI.
