The dust has finally settled on the fate and the next phase for quarterback Brock Purdy after he was signed by the San Francisco 49ers for a \$265 million contract extension for five years, as mentioned by Jori Epstein, who works for Yahoo Sports.
The five-year extension deal with Brock Purdy was first disseminated by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes \$181 million in guaranteed money and puts the player in the league of his colleagues of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL at \$53 million per year. He now ranks the same as Tua Tagovailoa and Jared Goff.
The deal with the team represents a positive shift from his previous rookie contract, which averaged $934,000 annually over his first three seasons.
The player was drafted as the final pick three years ago and also emerged as a star after stepping in due to injuries that affected both Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance.
Brock Purdy has propelled the team to a Super Bowl run in 2023 and made two consecutive NFC Championship appearances, recording 44 touchdowns, 5,654 passing yards, and a 68.7% completion rate over his first 21 starts.
His swift movement from a nobody in the game has been turned around as the new heftier price tag comes with much expectation from him.
