Emmy-Winning Actress Valerie Mahaffey Dies At 71

Actress Valerie Mahaffey, who was popularly known for her roles in Desperate Housewives, Young Sheldon, and Big Sky, has died after battling cancer.

She was 71 years old.

Her publicist confirmed the news, saying that Mahaffey passed away in California after she was diagnosed with cancer.

Her daughter, Alice, whom she shared with her husband Joseph Kell, paid tribute to her mother in a Facebook post saying, “Cancer sucks! I’ll look for you in all the fun moments of life.

Mahaffey has been in the Limelight since the 70s, and she has featured in several films and series, including Young Sea Biscuit and Sully.

She also starred in the medical series ER, the music series Glee, and Desperate Housewives.

Valerie has had remarkable moments in her career. In 1992, she won an Emmy award for Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for ‘Northern Exposure, where she played Eve.

She was also nominated in 2020 for an Independent Spirit Award for her role as Madame Reynard in the movie ‘French Exit.’

She also played teacher Victoria MacElroy in Young Sheldon.

Valerie is survived by her daughter and husband.
