Forward Matheus Cunha has insisted that he still has some time with the Wolves after his recent outstanding game in the team’s 2-0 victory on Saturday against Aston Villa, putting a closure to the rumor that he will depart from the club before the close of the transfer window.

Cunha, a 25-year-old striker from Brazil, has done well for the team this season, scoring a total of 11 goals in the 23 games he has featured in this season.

The Brazil international fired a great shot that put Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in a vulnerable spot, seemingly firing a goodbye goal in the West Midlands derby amid the rumor that he will be bidding the team farewell.

As against the rumor, Cunha made a celebration to cast away the thought after scoring by pointing to the Wolves crest, blowing kisses to the supporters of the club, and displaying a contract signing post.

A few hours after the end of the game, Wolves made a public note that he had signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract.

Vitor Pereira, Wolves head coach, hailed the striker’s commitment to the team and keeping them in the top spot. The Brazilian was loaned to Wolves in 2022 by Atletico Madrid.

Among the clubs that Matheus Cunha played for before joining the Premier League side are Sion, RB Leipzig, and Hertha Berlin.
