Fulham’s star Raul Jimenez scored two penalty goals that included a final-minute equalizer to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town. The second half of the game was full of a lot of drama, controversies, and three spot-kicks.
Fulham took possession but scored after the first half when Sammie Szmodics converted a rebound from Ben Johnson that hit the bar.
The game became interesting, giving Fulham enough momentum after Jimenez successfully converted a penalty that was awarded after Darren Bond, the match referee, overturned his earlier take following a VAR check review of Sam Morsy’s trip on Harry Wilson into a goal.
Few minutes after Jimenez scored the penalty, Ipswich scored another goal to reclaim the lead when Timothy Castagne committed a foul against Liam Delap in the penalty area and Delap netted a good eighth goal in the league with a fine shot.
Ipswich attempted to score another goal that would have given them the whole three points, but Jack Clarke’s strike hit the bar. Fulham countered the team, and Leif Davis committed a foul against Jimenez.
Jimenez gently scored his second penalty by placing it past the goalkeeper and extending the team’s undefeated streak to eight games. Fulham sits in ninth place in the Premier League, and Ipswich remains in the relegation area, 18th, sharing the same points with Wolves.
