YouTube TV subscription price is set to increase to $82.99 per month; the price is increasing from its current $72.99 to the next price, and this decision will only be enforceable by next January.
Alphabet, the owner of YouTube and Google, announced the price increase, defending its position as that content costs are now on the increase, and the increase will affect more than 8 million subscribers that registered on the platform.
The new price will affect the subscriber’s first billing cycle after Jan. 13, 2025. The new plans can be verified by customers in their account settings, while the company has also informed their customers that the plans can be cancelled at any time.
This increase comes after so many increases for the service, including 2017 at $35 per month; the price increased in 2019, and the cost rose to $50 and reached $72.99 in March 2023.
The new price matches other companies prices, such as Disney’s Hulu + Live TV bundle, as streaming platforms like Disney+, Apple TV+, and Paramount+ have also increased the prices of their plans or adjusted what they offer this year.
Many of those that streams are tapping into bundles and are also including service tiers to compete in a market that is evolving.
