Norwegian Cruise Line Confirms Suspension Of Search For Passenger Who Fell From Norwegian Cruise Ship

Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed that the search for a man who fell on Thursday from the Norwegian Epic cruise ship has been suspended. The man is 51 years old.

The report available confirmed that the 51-year-old passenger fell from the ship near the Bahamas at 3 p.m. 

“The authorities were immediately notified, and a search and rescue operation under the guidance and oversight of the Bahamas Rescue Coordination Center went underway,” a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise told WESH. “After an extensive search that was unfortunately unsuccessful, the ship was released by the authorities to continue its voyage.”

The man’s identity is yet to be made public as he was said to have been traveling with family and a large group.
The Norwegian Cruise Line, in their release, stated that support is being provided to the family of the man, adding, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.”

The convoying the man and other passengers left on Saturday from Port Canaveral for a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage. 

Those who witnessed the incident mentioned on social media platform X that the man jumped from the ship, but authorities have yet to reveal the circumstances leading to the fall. The media awaits further information about the incident.
