Lazio put an end to Atalanta’s outstanding 11-game winning run in Serie A after the two-team game ended 1-1 on Saturday.
The first-half goal scored by forward Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was ruled out by a late equalizer from Marco Brescianini.
The draw for Atalanta did not take away the top position on the Serie A table from them after securing a total of 41 points, just one point ahead of Inter Milan, who stays second on the table. Inter Milan defeated Cagliari 4-0 earlier in the day before Atalanta’s draw against Lazio. Lazio, with 35 points, sits in fourth place on the table.
Lazio was all over the place in the first half as they led with possession and scored the first goal in the 27th minute after a precise high through ball from Nicolo Rovella to Dele-Bashiru. He brilliantly cut inside the box and kicked a shot that passed the goalkeeper, making it a 1-0.
The game ended in a tough battle while multiple chances were created by the two. Atalanta finally secured a point through a late goal.
Marco Brescianini helped Atalanta to secure a point after he successfully converted a good assist from African Best Player of the Year Ademola Lookman, leveling the game to a 1-1 draw.w
