Three years after his critically acclaimed “Call Me If You Get Lost,” which earned a Grammy for Best Rap Album, Tyler, The Creator dropped his seventh studio album titled, “Chromakopia.”
According to Rolling Stone, the new album will feature a lot of high-profile stars, including Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Schoolboy Q, Teezo and Sexyy Red. Ahead of the “Chromakopia” release, Tyler shared one single, “Noid,” accompanied by a music video featuring actress Ayo Edebiri.
Last night in Inglewood, CA, Tyler shared insights about his new album at a listening event, discussing its themes and some personal details.
“The album just kind of turned into me taking a bunch of shit my mom told me when I was a kid,” he told fans. “Now that I’m 33, all of that stuff is like, ‘Oh, that’s what fuck she was talking about! Oh, I’m not the guy that I was at 20! Oh shit!'”
Tyler will also be going on a global tour to promote his new album. Billboard reported that the “Chromakopia: The World Tour” is set to launch on February 4th in St. Paul, Minnesota, and will travel to major cities throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, concluding on July 27th in Newark, New Jersey. Joining him on this tour will be special guests Lil Yachty and Paris Texas.
In addition to the new album and upcoming tour, Billboard and VIBE also reported that the artist will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his Camp Flog Gnaw music festival and carnival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in the middle of November.
