This sweet moment of victory quickly turned sour for Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis after 23-year-old Steelers wide receiver George Pickens grabbed his facemask, causing him to fall.
After the game, a video surfaced online showing Lewis celebrating in Pickens’ face, which seemed like he was taunting him. In response, the wide receiver dragged Lewis to the ground by subtly grabbing his facemask. An official quickly intervened to prevent the altercation from escalating further.
Another video posted on X showed an upset Lewis criticizing Pickens as he made his way through a tunnel leading to the locker room. He was heard suggesting that the Steelers needed a new receiver as Pickens is “weak.”
Last night’s game was very challenging for George Pickens who only recorded 26 yards on three receptions from seven targets. This is quite low compared to his previous week’s breakout game against the Indianapolis Colts, where he recorded 113 yards on seven catches.
Following the match between the Cowboys and the Steelers, many users online felt that his action toward his opponent was dangerous and unsportsmanlike. Even though Lewis may have said something that angered Pickens, football fans are criticizing how he responded and some are also calling for him to be subjected to disciplinary action.
