Video: Man Shows How To Drive Through A DUI Checkpoint With No Issues From The Police

A man made a video showing how to drive through a DUI checkpoint without getting into any problems with the police officers.

He made the real video in his car as he drove to a police traffic stop for a DUI check. According to the clip, you should handle the situation like this.

First, the driver rolled his window slightly down and asked the officer to identify himself and state his badge number. After getting the name of the deputy, he asked if the officer’s bodycam was on.

Before he handed out his papers to the officer, he first informed them that he did not consent to any searches or seizures and that he was going under the advice of his attorney not to answer any questions without his lawyer present.

After stating his rights, he did not hand his license to the officer but rather, placed it on the window glass for him to see.

When the officer asked him if he had any drink that night, he simply ignored the question.

And that was it, he was let go.

The video was posted by AlphaFox under the caption “How to properly navigate a DUI checkpoint”.

The first comment in the comment section at this time pointed out that it was not necessary and that “If you don’t drink & drive, you don’t have to worry about checkpoints.” Another agreed, saying it doesn’t always work.

Others pointed out that DUI checkpoints were illegal and should be removed from the roads.

On Friday, 596 cars were stopped at a DUI checkpoint on the 500 block of Higuera from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the spot was chosen because of the high incidence of drivers driving under the influence which resulted in a crash.

The DUI checkpoint on that day found two drivers wanted for driving without a license or with a suspended/revoked license.
