Florida State football was defeated at a home opener to Boston College despite the bosmos and groans in their support; this marks the first time that they have suffered 0-2 since 2021.
The visitor snatched away 28-13 as quarterback Thomas Castellanos and the Eagles’ offense frustrated the Seminoles, which exposed an incompetent Florida State defense.
This loss put a stop to FSU’s nine-game home victory steak, with their quarterback DJ Uiagalelei being unable to keep up, which geared fans to ask backup quarterback Brock Glenn.
Quarterback Brock Glenn earned fans’ trust after appearing in five matches for the FSU last year, including the ACC Championship and Orange Bowl.
Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei completed 21 of 42 passes, made one interception, and threw a touchdown as Castellanos went 10-for-16 with 85 rushing yards on 19 carries and two passing touchdowns, including one rushing touchdown.
Boston College, the visitor scored two in the second quarter as Castellanos added a rushing and passing touchdown.
The Florida State football team did not give up, as they made a later attempt to come back when Uiagalelei connected with Kentron Poitier for a touchdown, closing the distance to 21-13. But the inability of their defense to stop the Eagles helped Boston College emerge with victory with a short rush by Kye Robichaux that ended the game at 28-13.
