Jesse Jane, a once-prominent figure in the adult entertainment industry, had been reported dead on January 24 at the age of 43. Quite recently, the Oklahoma state Medical Examiner’s office has concluded that her death was the result of an accidental overdose involving a combination of fentanyl and cocaine.
Jane, whose legal name was Cindy Taylor, was discovered unresponsive at her residence in Moore, Oklahoma. Local law enforcement, responding to a welfare check request, made the grim discovery. Her boyfriend, Brett Hasenmueller, was also found deceased at the scene.
The star rose to fame in the early 2000s, signing an exclusive contract with Digital Playground studio in 2002. Jesse Jane’s career in adult films spanned over a decade, during which she became one of the industry’s most recognizable faces. Her final years in the business were with Jules Jordan Video before she announced her retirement in 2017.
Beyond adult entertainment, Jesse Jane made efforts to break into mainstream media. She secured minor roles in Hollywood productions and appeared on popular television shows. Her most notable mainstream appearances included cameos in “Starsky & Hutch” and HBO’s “Entourage.”
Reflecting on her career in a 2018 interview with GQ, Jesse Jane said,
“I got into porn right at the perfect time, when porn stars mattered. Porn stars back then, they were big, glamorous. You walked into a room, you turned heads.”
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control has previously identified fentanyl as a major threat to public health and safety in the state.
