FBI to Interview Former President Trump After He Survived An Assassination Attempt in Pennsylvania

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently preparing to conduct a victim interview with former President Donald Trump after he survived an assassination attempt that occurred on July 13.

The FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate told reporters that the “entirety of the FBI is committed to uncovering the real facts, the truth about this attack on former President Trump and the murder of Mr. Comperatore and the injury to others as well.”

The interview is set for Thursday and is a standard procedure that the FBI does for any victim of a crime. Kevin Rojek, who leads the FBI’s Pittsburgh office, explained this in his statement. He also added that they want to “get his perspective on what he observed, just like any other witness to the crime.”

The man who tried to kill Trump is Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old described by the FBI as “highly intelligent” and “a loner.” During their investigation, officials found out that Crooks had done a lot of research before the attack. He had looked up information about past assassinations, mass shootings, and even power plants.

One of the details that officials found interesting is that Crooks had searched online for “how far away was Oswald from Kennedy” about a week before he attacked Trump.

The FBI is still trying to figure out why he went after the former President. They have spoken to hundreds of people and looked at many of Crooks’ online accounts. However, according to them, the deceased suspect was very careful about hiding his plans. He had used fake names to buy things related to guns and explosives online.

The FBI also mentioned that Crooks’ parents didn’t notice anything unusual before the attack. To his family, the chemicals he purchased didn’t seem strange at all as the suspect had always been interested in science and experiments.
