Elon Musk, the well-known CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has recently shared his strong views on gender transition for young people. In a talk with Jordan Peterson, Musk opened up about his own family’s experience with this issue.

During the interview, Elon Musk said that one of his children, who used to be called Xavier, went through a gender transition. He feels he was misled during this process. “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for … Xavier,” Musk stated. He added that this happened during the confusing time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tech leader expressed deep sadness about this situation, saying, “My son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind-virus.” Musk uses the term “woke mind-virus” to describe ideas he thinks are harmful to society and strongly disagrees with what some call “gender-affirming care” for young people.

He believes these treatments can hurt children.

“The so-called gender-affirming care, which is a terrible euphemism, it’s really child sterilization … child mutilation. It’s evil,” he said.

He also thinks many kids go through identity crises as they grow up and worries that adults might push confused children into thinking they’re the wrong gender. He explained,

“It’s very possible for adults to manipulate children, who are having a natural identity crisis, into believing that they are the wrong gender.”

Musk compared this to other age restrictions we have in society. He pointed out,

“The reason you can’t get, say, tattoos below age 18, or drink … If we allow children to take permanent actions when they’re 10, 12, 14 years old, they will do things they subsequently regret.”

This personal experience has affected Musk’s business decisions too as he’s moving his companies from California to Texas because the former now has a law allowing schools to let children identify as LGBTQ+ without telling their parents.

Elon Musk disagrees with this law and his views on this topic are quite controversial.
