The stars of “Deadpool & Wolverine” gave fans at San Diego Comic-Con an unforgettable surprise. On the day the movie hit theaters worldwide, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and the film’s team showed up in Hall H for a special event.

Reynolds, Jackman, co-star Emma Corrin, director Shawn Levy, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige came to what they called “The Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life.” They didn’t just come to talk – they brought the whole movie with them.

Before the surprise screening, Reynolds shared a memory from his first Comic-Con visit for the original “Deadpool” movie.

“I was the most nervous human being you would ever see,” he admitted. “I feel like I was able to connect with you in a way that I’d really kind of been yearning to connect.”

Jackman added his own story from that day. He remembered hearing fans chant for more footage and how he rushed backstage to make sure they got what they wanted.

“I ran backstage and I said, ‘Play the footage again. If you don’t play the fucking footage again, they are going to tear Hall H to the ground,'” he recounted.

The big moment came when they announced they would show the entire movie right there in Hall H. The 6,500 fans in the room couldn’t believe their luck. They even got special Wolverine-shaped popcorn buckets to enjoy during the show.

Throughout the movie, the crowd cheered and laughed. They got especially excited when surprise guest stars appeared on screen. After the movie ended, Reynolds and Jackman came back on stage, both looking touched by the fans’ reaction.

Reynolds called it an “emotional honor and a privilege to be standing up here next to the X-Man.” Jackman, who has played Wolverine for 24 years, thanked Reynolds and Levy for bringing him back to the role.

Then, to everyone’s surprise, they invited all the secret guest stars from the movie to join them on stage. This included actors like Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, and Chris Evans, whom Reynolds made sure to introduce as Human Torch, specifically.

The celebration didn’t stop there. Outside, over Petco Park, there was a big light show with drones and fireworks. The lights formed shapes of Deadpool and Wolverine in the sky.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is expected to do very well at the box office. Early guesses say it might make between $160 million and $170 million in its first weekend in North America alone. Some think it could even reach $200 million if word spreads about how good it is.

The movie brings together fan-favorite characters with lots of humor and action. Besides Reynolds and Jackman, it stars Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, and Matthew Macfadyen. For Marvel fans, “Deadpool & Wolverine” is a big deal as it mixes different parts of the Marvel universe in a new and exciting way.
