Actress Erica Ash From Mad TV Dies at 46 After Battle with Cancer

Talented actress Erica Ash has passed away at the age of 46. Her family announced in a statement that she died after a long fight with cancer.

She was best known for her starring roles in the Starz series “Survivor’s Remorse” and BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” She also appeared in many other TV shows and movies during her career.

Erica Ash was born in Florida on September 19, 1977. Before becoming an actress, she graduated from Emory University with a pre-medicine degree. She chose to pursue acting instead, starting with a tour of the Broadway show “The Lion King”.

In 2006, she appeared on “The Big Gay Sketch Show” and later went on to become a regular on “Mad TV”, which helped launch her into bigger roles.

She appeared in comedy films like “Scary Movie V” and “Uncle Drew”, as well as dramatic TV series like “Shades of Blue” with Jennifer Lopez.

One of her most memorable characters was M-Chuck on “Survivor’s Remorse”. While speaking to Deadline, Mike O’Malley, the show’s creator, remembered Ash fondly, saying:

“Erica Ash had a booming laugh that filled the set of Survivor’s Remorse every day. It was a loud and generous laugh.”

In their statement, Erica’s family thought her to be “an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor and genuine zest for life.”

Erica Ash’s family has asked that instead of flowers, people can make donations to breast cancer charities in her name, including the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation.
