Videos: Kamala Harris Gets Jonathon Van Ness In The White House To Mark Pride Queer Eye Anniversary

Here are video clips of LGBTQ trans activist Jonathon Van Ness in the White House following her invite by Vice President Kamala Harris to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Queer Eye”.

Jonathon Van Ness, who identifies as non-binary using They/He/She pronouns, attended the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy Pride event in the Whitehouse with the TV show’s creators and past and present cast members – Carson Kressley, Jai Rodriguez, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, David Collins and Michael Williams.

The White House Pride Event was to mark the two decades of LGBTQ drive in the United States, during which VP Kamala Harris and the Queer Eye team talked about the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

Jonathon Van Ness shed light on his experience as a gay/trans man living with HIV/AIDS. According to him, he became aware of his status at a visit to Planned Parenthood.

“I’ve been living with HIV for over 10 years,” he said, “and it’s so important to think about funding, intersectionality, and making sure we can protect institutions that are protecting people”.

Rodriguez added that the LGBTQIA people “are scared to ask about getting HIV tested or, even if you find out that you are positive, to have a doctor that’s going to give you proper medications or preventative things like PrEP”.

Van Ness was later granted a question-and-answer session in the White House.
