Authorities have released the footage of the moment a SWAT sniper took the decisive shot that hit a man standing in the middle of two people he held hostage, at a Bank of America (BOA) branch in southwest Florida, killing him instantly.

The snipper shot the hostage taker, 36-year-old Sterling Alavache in the forehead, the bullet passing through a computer monitor, replicating a scene from a Hollywood action movie.

Alavache was killed after he made bomb threats and was holding the two hostages at knifepoint as he attempted to rob the bank in February.

He revealed to deputies from deputies that he had a bomb before taking up hostages and using them as human shields.

The call to end the Alavache was called after when he had a knife at the throat of one of the hostages, despite negotiations with the police.

The released footage from The Lee County Sheriff’s Office showed a SWAT sniper using another officer’s shoulder to steady the rifle.

“Due to the suspect’s limited exposure, the sniper took a planned and deliberate shot through a computer monitor striking the suspect in the center of the forehead killing him instantly,” Public Information Officer Lt. Todd Olmer said in a briefing. ““Shooting positions like these are trained regularly by snipers for time-critical incidents like these,” he added.
