Hip-hop superstar Travis Scott found himself in legal trouble early Thursday morning following a disturbance at Miami Beach Marina. The 33-year-old artist, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing.
According to local authorities, police responded to reports of an altercation on a yacht around 1:45 AM. Upon arrival, officers encountered Scott shouting at individuals aboard the vessel. Law enforcement noted a strong odor of alcohol on the rapper’s breath.
Initially complying with police instructions to leave the area, Travis Scott reportedly returned minutes later, exhibiting an “erratic” behavior and disturbing nearby residents. This led to his arrest at approximately 1:17 AM.
While his representatives downplayed the severity of the incident, suggesting there was no physical altercation, the rapper was briefly held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center before being released on a $650 bond.
This incident occurs just days before Scott is scheduled to embark on his European tour, “Circus Maximus,” set to begin next week in the Netherlands. The rapper, who shares two children with reality TV star Kylie Jenner, has not publicly commented on the arrest as of this report. However, following his release, the artist shared an edited version of his mugshot on his Instagram story, seemingly making light of the situation.
This latest controversy adds to Scott’s history of legal challenges, including ongoing civil litigation related to the tragic events at his 2021 Astroworld festival in Houston, where ten attendees lost their lives in a crowd surge.
