New Hybrid Bugatti Tourbillon

The makers of Bugatti got rather negative feedback on the release of its new hybrid car called Tourbillon after enthusiast compared its poor electric mileage and huge cost to Tesla’s electric vehicles.

The new Bugatti Tourbillon reaches its top speed at 277 mph, and accelerates from 0-186 mph in less than 10 seconds and from 0-62mph before two seconds, all thanks to the agile performance of its 8.3-liter V16 engine that produces 1,000 horsepower, mated with three electric motors (two in the front, one in the back) that produces an additional 800 HP.

See photos below:

Though the Tourbillon might be among the top leads of the world’s fastest cars, it sits at the bottom of the list of electric/hybrid cars because of its poor electric mileage of 37 miles on a 25kw battery.

In sharp contrast, the Tesla Model S prides itself on an EV range of 359 miles. It accelerates 0-60 quickly at 1.99s with a top speed maxed at 200mph. Its modest price of $87,990 is also a far cry from the pricy Bugatti’s hybrid Tourbillon which starts at $4,600,000.

A quick comparison between the Tourbillon and Tesla’s Model S left many trolling the Bugatti’s flagship.

“We need a new name for “hybrids” with 37 miles of range”, Brandon Smith said.

“Can it fly”? Alex asked.

“That gets you over 50 Model S Plaids that do the same 0-60…” Kyan wrote.

“I’d consider it if it were a stainless steel 4 door truck that is triangle shaped. Otherwise, I think I am going to have to sit this one out and just wait for Gen 2”, Chiesa said.

However, another pointed out that Tourbillon was not made for mass production and was meant to showoff wealth. “People fail to understand that this isn’t made for mass production”, he said. It’s a work of art and costs a lot to produce. It’s also specifically made for the ultra-wealthy and they don’t care about the price.

Only 250 units of the Bugatti Tourbillon will be produced and deliveries will start in 2026.
