Payton Pritchard Sinks Another Half-Court Three At Buzzer In Game 5 Of NBA Finals

Payton Pritchard has done it again. The Celtics guard drained another deep heave at the buzzer in Game 5 of the NBA Finals during Monday’s game.

With the Celtics emerging Victory against the Dallas Mavericks in the closing seconds of the first half at TD Garden, the Boston backup point guard came in and did it again. With just two seconds on the clock, Al Horford collected the rebound off a Luka Doncic missed free throw, passed it to Pritchard, and the guard picked it from there.

Pritchard threw a shot from beyond half-court and scored, putting the Boston Celtics up 67-46 at the break.

A lot of NBA players and other athletes from around the sports world took to X formerly known as Twitter to comment on Pritchard’s shot.

While Patrick Mahomes is no fan of Pritchard, Julian Edelman is a huge fan.

Pritchard clearly has a knack for these moments, as his halftime hit on Monday was his second deep heave of the series. He came in at the end of the third quarter of Game 2 last week and banked in a shot from just inside mid-court, giving Boston Celtics a nine-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Those were Pritchard’s only points in Boston’s Game 2 win.

His deep shot before halftime was Pritchard’s only attempt in the first half of Game 5. The Celtics were on fire from downtown in the first half on Monday night, hitting 10 out of their 21 three-point attempts as they aimed to close out the Mavericks and clinched the NBA title.
