Photo: Mysterious Shiny Alien Monolith Found In Nevada Desert. What Is It

A mysterious monolith was discovered in a wildlife refuge north of Las Vegas this weekend.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that their Search and Rescue team found the strange structure near Gass Peak in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. Gass Peak is one of the highest peaks in the area surrounding Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police used the monolith sighting as an opportunity to remind hikers to prepare themselves before venturing into the wilderness. They advised telling someone your plans, researching the weather, and bringing extra food, water, and light.

Large black monoliths created by aliens in movies prompted Lt. Nick Street of Utah’s Department of Public Safety to say the alien structure was “not from another world”.

This isn’t the first time mysterious monoliths have appeared in the U.S. In 2020, a monolith was discovered in the Utah desert, another at the pinnacle of a trail in California, and a third near Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Similar monoliths have also been found worldwide, including in Romania and at a Turkish World Heritage site. The latter was later revealed to be a gimmick by the Turkish government.

Most of these monoliths were destroyed or removed shortly after being found, with some vandals citing concerns over the environmental impact of increased foot traffic to view the structures.
