Morocco Defeat Zambia 2-1 In 2026 African World Cup Qualifiers

Morocco’s Atlas Lions defeated Zambia’s national football team in their second World Cup 2026 Qualifiers match. The game was held on Friday at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir.

Throughout the match, the Moroccan side showcased greater composure and determination, ultimately securing a 2-1 victory over their opponents.

The excitement began early when Galatasaray midfielder Hakim Ziyech scored for the Atlas Lions in the sixth minute.

As the game progressed, both teams fought for control and sought opportunities to capitalize on their respective attacks.

However, Morocco extended their lead in the 67th minute through Eliesse Ben Seghir.

Ben Seghir, who debuted for the national team in March this year, further solidified Morocco’s position with his goal.

Meanwhile, Zambia continued their efforts to stage a comeback.

In the 80th minute, Zambia managed to break through Morocco’s defense when Edward Chilufya found the back of the net.

Zambia sought to score an equalizer to salvage a crucial point in what is expected to be a challenging World Cup qualifying campaign for the Atlas Lions’ opponents. However, Morocco’s defense remained strong, preventing further breakthroughs.

With this win, the Moroccan national team advances their quest for qualification to the highly anticipated World Cup 2026.

The African World Cup qualifiers have placed Morocco in Group E alongside Zambia, Niger, Congo, Tanzania, and Eritrea.
