Liverpool’s winger, Mohamed Salah, achieved a milestone on Sunday, matching a record previously held by Wayne Rooney during Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Tottenham.
At Anfield, Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott found the net before the hour mark, revitalizing the Reds’ slim hopes for the title.
In addition to netting the opening goal, the ‘Egyptian King’ provided an assist for Elliott’s stunning strike.
This brings Salah’s tally for the season to 18 goals and 10 assists thus far.
Salah has now become the first player to score 10+ goals and provide 10+ assists in three consecutive seasons.
Moreover, he has joined an elite group as only the second player to achieve double figures in both metrics in five separate seasons.
The sole other player to accomplish this feat was Rooney during his tenure at Manchester United.
