Previously Deported Texas Immigrant Charged In Death Of 3-Month-Old Baby

Texas authorities have arrested an illegal immigrant who was previously deported by the Trump’s administration but brought back in the US by Biden, in connection with the killing of a 3-month-old baby on April 21.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 26-year-old Melvin Jesus Aquino Enriquez, residing in Porter. He faces charges of injury to a child and assault-family violence.

On April 14, authorities responded to reports of an injured child at a residence on the 25000 block of Needham Road in Porter. Following this, a comprehensive investigation into the child’s injuries was promptly initiated, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The baby was hospitalized but unfortunately succumbed to the injuries on April 24. The MCSO Special Victims Unit is currently awaiting autopsy results to further determine the circumstances leading to the child’s untimely death. Based on these findings, officials will decide if additional charges are warranted.

Enriquez is currently detained with a bond set at $75,000. Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on him due to his immigration status, according to the sheriff’s office.

An ICE spokesperson informed Fox News Digital that Aquino Enriquez, described as a “previously removed Mexican national,” had entered the United States illegally at an unknown date and location without inspection, admission, or parole by an immigration officer.

“On March 4, 2020, immigration officers from [ICE] Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Houston encountered Aquino at the Harris County (Texas) Jail following his arrest for criminal trespass and an immigration detainer was placed with the jail,” the spokesperson said.

“On April 28, 2020, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office transferred Aquino into ERO Houston custody and he was placed into immigration proceedings. On Sept. 15, 2020, an immigration judge with the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review ordered Aquino removed from the U.S. to Mexico.”

Two days later, officers transported Aquino Enriquez back to Mexico.
