Jon Wysocki, Original Drummer Of Staind, Passes Away At 56

Jon Wysocki, drummer and founding member of the band Staind, has passed away.

His death was announced on social media by his current band, Lydia’s Castle, on Sunday. According to the announcement, Wysocki was surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly, and an official statement will be developed shortly.

Staind was formed in Springfield in 1993 after vocalist Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok met at a Christmas party.

Wysocki joined the band as the drummer in 1995 and continued to perform with them until his death, including on their album released last year.

Staind said on social media: “We first met Jon through mutual friends in 1994. We came together with Mike, Aaron, and Johnny April in 1995 and founded Staind. The 17 years that followed were some of the best memories of our times together. From practice in Ludlow, Mass to touring around the world, Jon was integral to who we were as a band. Our hearts go out to Jon’s family, and fans around the world who loved him.”

Jon Wysocki was 56 years old.
