Highway 70 To Open Again With One-Way Traffic Control On Saturday

Highway 70 is expected to reopen with one-way traffic control on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

A mile of one-way traffic control will be in place during the reopening, according to Caltrans, close to Cresta. This configuration is required while work on the $58.8 million Pulga Project is ongoing.

The project is anticipated to be finished by the end of 2024, having begun in February 2023. Elevating the current road and strengthening the embankment with a retaining wall are important upgrades that will help it withstand future flooding.

There will also be an 8-foot shoulder on that section of the route.

Drivers are urged to remain vigilant, observe all traffic signs, and prepare for slight delays because of the ongoing work and one-way traffic control.
