Bus Carrying Migrant Workers To Farm Crashes In Forida, Killing 8 - Video

A  bus was carrying immigrants to a watermelon farm, which Florida officials said belonged to Cannon Farms, crashed. The accident left eight people dead, eight more in critical condition, and 37 of the workers hospitalized.

The bus crash occurred in Dunnellon, Marion County on Tuesday morning, with the farm yard about 15 miles away.

The accident according to the Florida Highway Patrol involved a 2001 Ford Ranger Truck that ‘collided in a widespread manner’ with the bus. 

Though the crash is still under investigation, Florida Highway Patrol, authorities said the bus seemed to have swerved off the straight road before crashing through a fence. 

Marion County Public Schools bus was used to transport the injured from the accident scene to the hospital. This ignited the false news that the accident involved schoolchildren.

Cannon Farms released a statement on social media concerning the accident.

‘We will be closed today out of respect to the losses and injuries endured early this morning in the accident that took place to the Olvera Trucking Harvesting Corp.

‘Please pray with us for the families and the loved ones involved in this tragic accident. We appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.’
