An elderly American woman tragically lost her life during a safari in Africa when a massive elephant attacked the truck she was in at Kafue National Park in Zambia – the footage was recorded by one of the passengers in the vehicle. The incident occurred on Saturday, March 30, during a game drive organized by Wilderness Safaris.
The shocking event was captured on video by one of the passengers, showing the elephant aggressively approaching the stopped truck before lifting it with its trunk and toppling it over within seconds. Another woman in the group was injured and taken to a medical facility in South Africa, while the other four guests suffered minor injuries.

Wilderness Safaris provided trauma counseling to all involved and acknowledged the incident, citing terrain and vegetation blocking the truck’s path as the reason for the guide’s inability to move the vehicle out of harm’s way quickly enough.
The company’s CEO stated that despite the guide’s training and experience, the circumstances prevented a swift response. Kafue National Park management, along with other authorities, are investigating the incident, with Wilderness Safaris fully cooperating with the process.
