A video of the frantic moment a group of passersby and road users stopping by to rescue a driver from his burning car after he crashed on I-94 highway in St. Paul, Minnesota, proves good samaritans still do exist.
Their timely effort saved the life of the driver who would have burnt to death alive while trapped on the seat of his car.
A highway worker from the Minnesota Department of Transportation smashed the window of the car as the car door which was blocked by the guard rail could not open.
“That could have been me one day, you know,” one of the rescuers said. “What would happen if I was in that situation and my life was in the hands of strangers that I don’t even know. This is something I’ll never forget.”
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 when he drifted to the right of the road, struck a light pole and then a guardrail.
The crash victim reportedly had no injuries and was taken to Regions Hospital for further evaluation.
