Reports suggest that English Premier League outfit Liverpool has identified Jurgen Klopp’s successor.
Allegedly, the club has reached a compensation agreement with Dutch side Feyenoord for Arne Slot to assume the role of the new manager, as per various sources.
In late January, Klopp disclosed his decision to step down as Liverpool’s manager at the end of the ongoing season. The 56-year-old has been associated with Anfield since 2015 and notably secured a UEFA Champions League title in 2019 and a Premier League title in 2020, marking the club’s first league triumph in three decades.
Slot said on Thursday: “It seems clear to me that I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I’m waiting to see whether the clubs reach an agreement. I’m very confident in that.”
The 45-year-old Dutchman, renowned for nurturing young talent and promoting an attractive style of play, guided Feyenoord to the Dutch league title last season and the Dutch Cup in the ongoing campaign. Additionally, he steered the team to the 2022 Conference League final.
